Overview
Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (CNM 2) for a leading private hospital based in North Dublin. This role reflects professional/clinical leadership and management that promotes efficiency, innovation, teamwork and continuous quality improvements.
Responsibilities
* Be responsible for rostering staff to achieve an adequate and equitable skill mix. Allocate staff mix (in conjunction with Clinical Facilitator and CNM 1), efficiently according to analysis of clinical needs and available resources.
* Manage Day Ward lists, ensuring all slots are utilised and staffed appropriately; any additional points must be sanctioned by the CNM2 in the unit.
* Empower staff with effective communication and encourage regular staff feedback.
* Ensure all staff are up to date with mandatory training and are released to attend training days; support staff learning and development.
* Ensure policies/procedures are up to date and implemented daily within the unit.
* Support staff development plans and ongoing professional development.
* Exercise discretion and decision-making regarding patient care, referring to other CNM staff, medical staff and other disciplines as needed.
* Direct the Nursing Team to foster two-way communication and a culture of innovation and improvement with a focus on patient wellbeing.
* Carry out Consultants' instructions to ensure pre-operative, operative and post-operative care delivered to a high standard of safe care.
* Promote collaboration within the multidisciplinary team.
Essential qualifications
* Registered General Nurse with The Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
* Minimum of 5 years post-registration experience in the acute hospital setting within the last 9 years
* Minimum of 2 years in Day Surgery/Theatre/Medical/GI Nursing
* Experience working in a multi-professional environment
* Basic IT skills
* Experience in personal and professional development

* Knowledge of JCI/JAG or similar accreditation system
