The Working Environment
This is a nationwide field-based role covering all 32 counties. Travel is an integral part of the position, but the schedule is structured and predictable:
Monday to Friday working week
Flexibility to manage your time and finish early on Fridays where possible
No unnecessary weekend work – just a practical, common-sense approach to scheduling
Our client
is a specialist engineering business supplying and supporting high-precision manufacturing equipment to some of the most advanced production facilities in Ireland. Working with globally recognised machinery and international partners, they play a critical role in keeping essential manufacturing lines running smoothly, efficiently, and safely.
They are now looking to appoint a Senior Field Service Engineer to join their team, supporting customers across the country while developing deep technical expertise in a highly specialised and well-paid industry.
What You’ll Be Doing
Providing on-site technical support, maintenance, and repair for advanced manufacturing equipment
Diagnosing electrical, electronic, and mechanical faults in complex systems
Supporting installations, upgrades, and commissioning activities
Working directly with customer engineering teams to minimise downtime and optimise performance
Documenting work carried out and contributing to continuous improvement of service processes
What We’re Looking For:
You may come from:
Injection moulding machinery
Automotive or electric vehicle servicing
Electric forklifts, buses, or other electrified equipment
Or another industry where you’ve worked extensively with control panels, drives, inverters, and electrical fault finding
The key requirements are:
Strong electrical and electronic troubleshooting capability
Experience in field service, maintenance, or technical support roles
Confidence reading schematics and working within control panels
A practical, methodical approach to problem-solving and fault diagnosis
Excellent communication skills and a professional customer manner
Injection moulding experience is highly desirable, but not essential if you bring strong electrical and electro-mechanical service experience from a related sector.
