Role Description
As a Senior Project Planner, you will play a pivotal role in managing planning and scheduling processes for complex mechanical projects. You will ensure that all activities are coordinated, tracked, and delivered on time, while maintaining compliance with contractual and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain fully resourced project schedules using tools such as
Primavera P6
and
MS Project.
• Review contract documentation and highlight key schedule and reporting requirements.
• Prepare integrated construction programmes in collaboration with Project Managers and Main Contractors.
• Facilitate planning meetings and support client schedule negotiations.
• Monitor weekly progress, validate efficiency, and produce formal reports for the Commercial Team.
• Identify potential risks and roadblocks; propose mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with
EHS guidelines
, method statements, and risk assessments.
• Maintain accurate records of all planning activities and ensure timely updates to stakeholders.
Requirements
• A minimum of Level 8 qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Quantity Surveying or related area.

• Minimum 5+ years' experience in project planning within the mechanical or construction sector.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, piping and installation processes.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and familiarity with BIM tools (AutoCAD, Revit).
• Professional certifications such as PMP or AACE PSP are desirable.
• Ability to interpret complex data and optimise schedules
• Excellent interpersonal skills for liaising with clients, contractors, and internal teams
• Ability to anticipate challenges and implement proactive solutions
• Familiarity with health and safety standards and construction regulations
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Project / Microsoft Office tools
