Lead Mental Health Nurse Manager
Ambitious and experienced psychiatric nurses are invited to apply for a key leadership role within our organisation. As a Clinical Nurse Manager II, you will play a pivotal part in the daily management of our mental health services, leading by example and driving excellence in patient care.
Your primary objective will be to provide strategic direction, motivation, and guidance to ensure the effective use of resources in delivering high-quality patient care. You will facilitate the development of both staff and student nurses, while also assisting in the implementation of change within the service.
Duties:
• Utilize accurate and comprehensive knowledge of ethical principles and code of professional conduct within your scope of nursing practice.
• Adhere to the professional code of conduct for nurses in Ireland, ensuring that all nursing practice is carried out in accordance with HIQA directives.
• Promote and maintain duty of care to patients, advocating for their rights and serving as an advocate where necessary.
• Ensure that any trials, projects, or research on the ward are conducted in accordance with guidelines issued by the ethics committee.
• Promote the use of the Recovery and Safe Wards model, monitoring standards of care and assisting in the development and implementation of nursing audits and subsequent action plans.
• Verify that all nursing personnel under your supervision are competent and adhere to current legal requirements for the administration and storage of medicines/drugs.
• Ensure that all nursing personnel have knowledge regarding hospital policies related to medicine storage and administration.
• Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI).
Requirements:
• Computer skills: excellent proficiency
• Interpersonal and communication skills: exceptional ability
• Knowledge of HIQA standards and regulations: thorough understanding
• People skills: strong sense of vocation and empathy
• Post-registration experience in mental health nursing: required
• Registration with NMBI: essential
• Registered Nurse in Psychiatric Nursing: necessary qualification
