Graduate Lead Educator

We are seeking a highly qualified Graduate Lead Educator to lead our team in an early years service. As part of our team, you will work with children aged between 2.5 and 12 years.

The successful candidate will have a minimum QQI Level 7 qualification or QQI Level 8 in Early Years Education, or equivalent as approved by the Department of Children, Disability and Equality (DCDE). A full-time position with 40 hours per week is available, with an all-year contract.

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience working with young children, excellent communication skills, and a genuine interest in working in partnership with an early years team.


Key Responsibilities:

* Work with children and experienced educators to support their education and development.
* Lead the planning of safe, creative, and appropriate learning opportunities.
* Ensure all activities and practices in the room adhere to Aistear, the Early Childhood Curriculum Framework (NCCA), in line with a play-based emergent curriculum and policies and procedures in line with the Child Care Act 1991 (Early Years Services) Regulations 2016.
* Report regularly to the Manager and Assistant Manager and keep them updated on progress.
* Formulate and operate a program of activities that meet the individual needs and interests of children under the ECCE and SAC programs, in conjunction with other team members and the Manager.
* Keep records of children's development and learning journals, share this with parents, and other key adults in the child's life.
* Support all staff to engage in good team working, and provide training and support as needed.
* Ensure all record-keeping is accurate and up-to-date within your designated area, in cooperation with the room team.
* Conduct room checks and outdoor checks in line with service procedures and Health and Safety requirements.
* Liaise with and support parents and other family members.
* Participate in working activities, such as training, staff meetings, room meetings, parents' events, and other service events.
* Work alongside the manager and staff team to ensure the service philosophy is fulfilled.
* Read, understand, and adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to your role, as deemed appropriate for the needs of young children.
* Develop and maintain strong partnerships and communications with parents/families to facilitate day-to-day caring and early learning needs.
* Ensure the provision of a high-quality inclusive environment to meet the needs of individual children.
* Undertake and organize certain domestic jobs within the room, such as preparation of snacks, cleansing of equipment, and other duties of an equivalent nature, as determined by the Manager.
