Senior Civil Engineer specialising in Coastal and Marine
MWP is an established multi‑disciplinary engineering and environmental consultancy based in Munster, with offices in Cork, Tralee, and Limerick. MWP’s Marine and Coastal team is expanding and we have vacancies for talented and enthusiastic Coastal and Marine Civil Engineers.
These positions are for Chartered Engineers with at least 8 years of experience. They are permanent roles in a friendly and dynamic company that offers career development with a structured mentoring and support system. The work involves designing and managing coastal and marine engineering projects in a team‑based environment.
Qualifications
Minimum 8 to 15 years post‑graduate experience in Marine Civil Engineering
Experience in the design and project management of coastal/marine engineering projects from inception to handover
Experience in the design and planning of large‑scale port facilities, including quay walls, jetties, dolphins, and container pavements
Experience in coastal flood risk assessment, hydrodynamic modelling and/or coastal protection (beneficial)
Knowledge of government/public contracts such as NEC and FIDIC (desirable)
Current experience leading, managing, and running port/marine projects, preferably in consultancy
Excellent knowledge of current codes of practice and design standards
Proactive, good communicator with ability to lead others in a multi‑disciplinary project team
High level of attention to detail and accuracy
Strong interpersonal skills, written and oral communication
