Fire Engineer Location: Cork / County (Hybrid options available) Salary Range: €55,000 €75,000 + Benefits (DOE) Contract: Full-time, Permanent On behalf of our client, a leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy, we are seeking a Fire Engineer to join their growing team in Cork.
This role is ideal for a professional looking to lead fire safety strategies on high-value commercial, industrial, and residential developments across the Munster region.
The Role The successful candidate will provide expert technical advice on fire safety legislation, design building fire strategies, and ensure all projects comply with Part B of the Building Regulations and the Fire Services Act.
Key Responsibilities Fire Safety Certificates: Preparation and submission of Fire Safety Certificate applications and regular negotiation with Local Authorities.
Strategic Design: Developing comprehensive Fire Safety Strategy reports for complex buildings, including means of escape, internal fire spread, and access for fire services.
Modelling & Analysis: Utilising fire and smoke modelling software (CFD) and evacuation modeling to support performance-based designs.
Site Inspections: Carrying out site inspections during the construction phase to ensure installations meet design specifications and issuing ancillary certificates.
Candidate Profile Education: Degree in Fire Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience: 37 years of professional experience in Fire Safety Engineering (Senior levels will be considered at the higher end of the salary bracket).
Knowledge: Deep familiarity with TGD Part B, BS ****, and BS ****.
Professional Status: Chartered status (or working towards it) with Engineers Ireland or the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) is highly desirable.
