The Role
The Electrical Manufacturing Technician will work in a team environment supporting the manufacture of high purity filtration devices in a new manufacturing facility. The Electrical Manufacturing technician will focus on quality, process control/ improvements, maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting activities in support of production in a safe, cost-effective and environmentally sound manner, assuring capacity and achieving plant performance metrics.
The role involves supporting the equipment build and validation stages of the project by providing valuable input which ensures key milestones are successfully achieved. The Electrical Manufacturing technician will lead activities such as: setting up the equipment following installation, maintaining and calibrating the equipment throughout the equipment lifecycle and actively participating in process development work.
Note: This role may involve some travel to the US or another country for training.
Duties
* Responsible for setting up machines to produce product to the specified quality standards.
* Complete all necessary documentation as per cGMP.
* Perform Preventive Maintenance tasks.
* Perform Calibrations at the required intervals according to the device listing and completing the relevant documentation.
* Work with the Maintenance Planner to:-
* Ensure Maintenance Compliance at all times.
* Appropriate Spares are in Place and are Maintained
* Documentation is Audit Ready at all times.
* Troubleshoot equipment issues in a structured manner.
* Ensure all equipment is maintained to the highest level and all repairs both internally and externally are inspected and accepted.
* Represent the maintenance team with regards to safety initiatives and practices to develop and maintain an injury free workplace.
* Work within a larger engineering team including automation, calibrations, facilities, project and system engineers, with emphasis on performance, involvement, teamwork and personal development
* Utilize the ERP/CMMS system SAPNext, to ensure all maintenance activities executed through consistent application of a work order system.
* Identify areas in which maintenance reliability could be improved (areas of focus to include technology understanding and problems solving techniques), lead improvement initiatives and reduce dependence on external resources.
* Ensure that all maintenance activities meet all the regulatory standards (e.g. FDA, IMB, HSA, EPA...).
* Provide input into, and assist in the completion of, OPEX (Operational Excellence) projects to improve equipment reliability, automation, reduce lead-time and reduce EHS risks in the department.
* Reduce equipment downtime and increase efficiency of machine changeovers
* Perform all tasks with due recognition of environment, cGMP & plant procedures.
* Demonstrate a proactive commitment to safety, ensuring strict adherence to all established protocols, electrical safety standards and procedures, i.e. LOTO, Live working assessments.
* Support training of new production personnel on relevant equipment.
* Work closely with project group to identify and implement machine improvement.
* Assist with EHS investigations and issue resolution, process improvement work in the department, validation work in the department, including completion of trials & DOE's and with resolutions of major technical issues.
* Administration work related to duties such as completing work orders, placing PO's, liaising with vendors, service providers and contractors.
Who You Are
* Level 6 Advanced Electrical craft certified or equivalent
* Strong instrumentation ability / qualification also desirable.
* Strong electro-mechanical ability / qualification also desirable.
* Minimum of 3-5 years working in a Med Device or Pharma manufacturing environment.
* Working knowledge of mechanical systems in a production environment.
* Demonstrated high performance history, proven ability to execute and results driven.
* Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization.
* Preferable experience with ERP/CMMS SAPNext System.
* Preferable experience with a Calibration System.
* Knowledge of TPM, CI and OEE desirable.
* Be familiar with various Proactive and Lean Maintenance & Reliability approaches.
* Excellent awareness and experience in relation to Quality and Environmental Health & Safety especially Electrical Safety.
* Familiar with GMP requirements within a regulated industry.
* Effective verbal, written & interpersonal communication skills.
* The ability to work effectively within a team environment.
* High level of energy and enthusiasm and the ability to energize others.
* Self-motivated.
* Keen to learn & take responsibility.
* Strong organisational, time management and planning ability.
* Computer Literate Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
