Part-time Clerical Officer - Pre-Assessment Clinic

Responsibilities
Ensuring patient data is filed in the appropriate patient's chart.
Liaising with GP offices requesting medical information.
Managing incoming faxes and filing outside of the patient's chart for medical doctor to sign, then filing in patient's correspondence.
Filing lab reports, microbiology reports, and ECGs in patients' charts.
Ensuring patient details, medical questionnaires, and appropriate fax correspondence are correct before filing.
Filing all bloods on a daily basis.
Assisting medical team with outgoing faxes, scanning requests, and data required from GP/consultants' offices.
Ensuring charts required for surgery are completed in a timely, accurate, and comprehensive manner for review.
Answering telephone queries in PAC and dealing with queries as they arise.
Updating patient files and maintaining patient confidentiality in all aspects of medical records.
Typing, photocopying, scanning, filing, tidying, and maintenance of medical records as required.
Checking stock levels of stationery and re-ordering supplies daily.
When PAC charts are completed, placing them in the appropriate filing cabinet.
Collecting pre-assessment mail from admissions.
Checking voicemails daily and logging and communicating messages to clinical staff.
Maintaining a flexible attitude and understanding confidentiality and data protection.
You may be required, from time to time, to work in other departments within the UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic, at the discretion of the Director of Nursing.
Demonstrating behaviour consistent with the values of the clinic and creating healthy working relationships.
Liaising with wound clinic and scheduling patient wound clinic appointments.
Liaising with the cardiology department and scheduling Echo appointments.
Liaising with the Phlebotomy department to schedule patients for return appointments.
Qualifications & Experience
Educated to Leaving Certificate standard.
At least 2 years of previous clerical experience.
Previous experience of working within an acute/clinical setting.
Computer literate.
