About The Role
HSQE (Health, Safety, Quality & Environment)
* Read and understand the Company's Safety Statement and ensure that it is brought to the notice of any employee under your control.
* Familiarize yourself with the company's HSQE management systems and current statutory HSE legislation.
* Ensure compliance with all safety requirements and create Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
* Prepare and brief Toolbox talks.
* Report any unsafe situations to your Manager and ensure information affecting health and safety is communicated to the Contracts Manager.
* Work safely, using protective clothing and equipment, especially when working near public roads or water.
* If the Project Manager/Site Agent is absent, the Senior Site Engineer will assume safety and environmental responsibilities.
* Conduct quality control in line with company procedures, method statements, quality plans, and inspection/test plans.
Site Management
* Liaise with internal teams (planning, construction, design, commercial, HSQE) and external parties (Local Authorities, Utility Providers, Statutory Authorities).
* Understand the project scope, review specifications, drawings, and contract documents.
* Perform setting out, leveling, and surveying in accordance with drawings and specifications.
* Prepare Labour, Plant & Material Returns, as-built drawings, technical reports, and site diaries.
* Coordinate with purchasing to define requirements and requisition materials and plant.
* Manage day-to-day site activities, supervise labor force and subcontractors, and resolve technical issues.
Planning
* Coordinate with foremen on upcoming works and review construction plans.
* Conduct post-construction analysis for future planning.
* Assist in creating project budgets.
* Understand contract forms and implications of variations on program and costs.
* Collaborate with the Project Manager/planner on construction schedules and program constraints.
* Organize plant and site facilities to meet deadlines.
About You
Requirements:
* Masters/degree in engineering.
* 4-5 years experience as a Setting Out Engineer.
* Modules in Water/Wastewater are preferred.
* Membership in a relevant Professional Institution.
* Relevant experience through work or volunteer placements, with a commitment to safety and environmental standards.
