Verde Environmental Consultants are seeking an enthusiastic Graduate Ecologist to join our dynamic, multi-discipline team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone about to graduate, or who has recently graduated, with a relevant ecology or environmental degree. You will work across a variety of ecological projects, combining office-based tasks with fieldwork, and will gain valuable experience in survey work, data analysis, and report preparation. You'll have the opportunity to work on high-profile projects, from the planning and design phases to on-site implementation, gaining hands-on experience that will fast-track your career.Key ResponsibilitiesField Surveys - Assisting with and / or complete ecological field surveys across a range of habitats and species groups.Data Management – ensure that all field data, site photos, and project info is correctly catalogued for ease of access.Report Writing - Supporting the preparation of ecological reports, environmental assessments, compilation of mitigation strategies, etc.Communication - Liaising with colleagues across multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outputs.RequirementsExperience: Recently graduated or less than 1 years' experience in ecology or environmental consulting / internshipKnowledge: Seeing as you're a recent graduate, we don't expect you to know the full in's and out's of ecological consulting in Ireland. We're looking for someone that has a broad ecological knowledge base with a willingness to develop skills across different survey types. Knowledge of the EU Habitats Directive, knowledge of terrestrial and/or aquatic habitats, knowledge of Irish flora and fauna (and associated identification skills), bird identification skills, and/or alien invasive species identification skills would be greatly beneficial.
