Senior Occupational Therapist - Paediatrics
A Senior Occupational Therapist is required to lead the delivery and coordination of paediatric services within a primary care team. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of children aged 0-18 with complex needs, contribute to service development, support junior staff, and act as a key clinical resource within the multidisciplinary team.
Job Description:
Deliver advanced occupational therapy assessment and intervention for children with developmental, sensory, and physical challenges. Provide clinical leadership and support to junior team members, including mentoring, supervision, and case consultation. Manage a complex caseload, prioritising care needs while promoting functional independence and participation in everyday activities.
* Collaborate closely with families, educators, and allied health professionals to ensure holistic and coordinated care.
* Contribute to the planning and development of paediatric occupational therapy services within the team.
* Lead or participate in service audits, quality improvement projects, and best practice initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
CORU registration as an occupational therapist is essential. A minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience, ideally including paediatrics or community-based care, is preferred. Strong clinical reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are also required.
* Demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary team working and case coordination.
* Proven ability to manage a complex caseload and support service development.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on family-centred care.
