This role will support the Finance department in reporting, cost control, inventory analysis and supporting continuous improvement across the business. Requirements: Part or newly qualified Accountant with 1+ years experience in either industry or practice. Good analytical skills and comfort with large datasets. Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting systems. Understanding of commodity pricing, agricultural operations and/or previous experience in FMCG is desirable. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Dependable, ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Clear communication and good stakeholder management. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Assist the Financial Controller with preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L, Balance Sheet and variance analysis. Prepare journal entries (accruals, prepayments, stock adjustments, payroll postings). Support weekly and monthly KPI reporting (volume, margin, plant efficiencies). Contribute to budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes. Assist in preparation of year-end audit files and liaise with external auditors. Maintain and update product standard costs including BOMs and cost centre routings. Perform production cost variance analysis (material usage, yield, labour, overhead absorption). Analyse formulation cost changes and raw material price movements. Work with the Financial Controller and plant management on any cost-improvement initiatives. Provide financial insights to support efficiency and process improvements. Assist in monthly stock takes and stock reconciliations. Investigate stock discrepancies and work with operations to strengthen controls. Support AP/AR processes and identify opportunities to improve workflows. Review supplier statements, perform bank recs, assist with credit control if required. Ensure financial controls are followed and support the Financial Controller in maintaining accounting standards. Assist in preparation of VAT returns and statutory filings. Participate in internal and external audits and help implement recommendations. Provide financial insights to production, logistics, procurement, and commercial teams and provide financial support across the business. Work with the commercial team on tenders, quotes, customer rebates and costings.
