Company Intro / Summary A leading main contractor is seeking a Senior Estimator to join their pre-construction team in Dublin. The company delivers high-profile projects across multiple sectors, including residential apartment developments, commercial offices, educational facilities, and life sciences. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimator to play a key role in the preparation of competitive and high-quality tenders, contributing directly to the continued success of one of Irelands most respected contractors. Responsibilities Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates, tender documentation, and pricing strategies for a wide range of building projects. Analyse drawings, specifications, and project requirements to prepare accurate and commercially competitive cost plans. Obtain and review subcontractor and supplier quotations, preparing detailed comparisons. Prepare take-offs, bills of quantities, and schedules in line with project scope. Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering options during the tender phase. Ensure compliance with all contractual, commercial, and regulatory obligations. Collaborate with internal departments including design, planning, procurement, and operations to develop comprehensive bid proposals. Attend pre- and post-tender meetings, site visits, and client briefings as required. Contribute to project handovers, ensuring clear communication of scope and pricing assumptions. Maintain and develop databases, templates, and estimating tools to enhance team efficiency. Track tender outcomes and analyse data to improve future pricing strategies. Requirements Minimum 5 years experience in a senior estimating role within the construction industry, ideally with a main contractor. Proven track record in preparing successful tenders for medium to large-scale building projects. Strong technical knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and building regulations. Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Cubit, Buildsoft, CostX) and Microsoft Excel. Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Engineering. Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a proactive, solutions-focused approach. Package Salary: €85,000 €90,000 DOE. Full-time, permanent position based in Dublin. Attractive benefits package including pension and professional development support.
