We now have an exciting opportunity for a Software Technical Lead. Reporting to the CTO and working closely with the VP of Digital Health Technology,
The primary purpose of this role is to enable engineering excellence and delivery efficiency across the development team. The successful candidate will act as a Technical Lead, working hands-on with developers to improve coding practices, remove technical blockers, and ensure consistent, high-quality implementation aligned with agreed architectural and design principles.
The role should elevate the engineering team by providing technical guidance, practical standards, and day-to-day leadership that allows developers to work more efficiently and with greater confidence.
Responsibilities:
* Act as a technical leader and mentor for the development team, supporting engineers in day-to-day coding challenges and design decisions
* Identify and remove technical blockers that slow down development or create inefficiencies
* Establish and reinforce engineering best practices (e.g. coding standards, patterns, reviews, refactoring approaches)
* Promote consistent and maintainable code across the team
* Collaborate closely with the Product Owner to ensure technical execution aligns with delivery goals
* Actively contribute to hands-on software development, writing high-quality, maintainable code alongside the team
* Improve development workflows, tooling, and practices to increase team velocity and quality
Minimum Requirements:
* Computer Science Degree or equivalent engineering degree that includes software development.
* 7+ years in applications development, with at least 3 years in an architect Technical Lead role.
* Strong full-stack development expertise, with hands-on experience across front-end, back-end, and API development.
* Proven ability to improve team productivity through coding standards, best practices, tooling, and technical guidance.
* Experience leading a team through developing flexible and scalable software platforms.
* Hands-on experience with modern cloud and platform technologies (e.g., containers, Kubernetes/OpenShift, CI/CD).
* Strong communication skills, able to work effectively with product, architecture, and delivery roles.
The successful candidate will have the following skills:
* Strong full-stack software development expertise, with the ability to contribute hands-on code while guiding team standards and practices.
* Proven experience acting as a technical leader within an agile development team, improving delivery efficiency and code quality.
* Ability to define and promote best practices in coding, architecture, testing, and DevOps without creating unnecessary process overhead.
* Solid understanding of modern cloud-native architectures, APIs, integrations, and security fundamentals.
