Role Overview
The candidate will work with our Sustaining and Site Services Team as a Project Manager / Project Engineer or Program Manager for medium and small‑scale projects in the Pharmaceutical Sector. The successful candidate will report to the Jacobs Director of Project for Sustaining Capital and Site Services and will need at least five years of engineering experience and knowledge of building services in the pharmaceutical industry.
Key Requirements
Broad technical knowledge in pharmaceutical equipment and installations
Familiarity with project lifecycles from early concept to detail design and implementation
Broad knowledge of project governance, including progress measurement, change management and reporting
Commercial awareness of project performance
Ability to coordinate multi‑discipline project execution
Commitment to a strong health and safety culture
Ability to develop and adhere to project schedules
Knowledge of quality management systems and their implementation
Self‑motivation, team collaboration, and client engagement skills
Contractual awareness for the administration of pharmaceutical projects
Core Qualifications
Degree in an appropriate management or engineering subject (or equivalent)
5–10 years of engineering experience in pharma site operations or design
Proficient knowledge of project management processes and procedures
Proficient execution planning skills
Strong knowledge of HSE procedures and practices
Strong organizational and complex project activity management skills
Working knowledge of project control systems
Knowledge of proposals and bid processes
Understanding of engineering estimate basis
Understanding of contractual requirements for the project
Preferred
Chartered or Incorporated through a relevant Professional Institution or willingness to achieve this
Demonstrable knowledge of writing project quality and delivery plans
Good understanding of the technical work undertaken in the Biotech/Pharma sector
Experience with earned value analysis on projects
