Job Role Overview
This is a challenging opportunity for a skilled Project Manager to lead client-side project management on an extensive capital works programme. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing client interests and advising on issue resolution.
* Manage the client's interests on its Capital Major and Minor works and Maintenance programmes
* Provide advice in the resolution of issues where appropriate
* Optimise the existing estate value and deliver best value for money
* Assist in managing and monitoring the construction programme and cost plan to minimise variations
* Keep stakeholders informed of progress, cost, and other relevant issues
* Oversee the tender and contractor/consultant appointment process
* Ensure smooth information flow between all parties to the contract
* Identify and predict potential bottlenecks and delays, and action remedies
* Agree valuations and final accounts for contractors and consultants
* Monitor build and material quality
* Ensure contractor and consultancy contractual compliance
* Assist in front-end design planning and procurement of other projects within our portfolio
* Level 8 Degree in Engineering or Construction-related field
* Minimum 5 years engineering experience with a contractor or consulting engineers
* Knowledge of current construction contracts and procurement methodologies
* Proven track record of seeing projects through to successful completion
* Current driving licence and vehicle
