Weekend Maintenance Technician
You will be working in a fast-paced production environment as a Weekend Maintenance Technician. This hands-on role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving plant equipment to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency across the production lines. Your responsibilities will include performing scheduled and reactive maintenance tasks, conducting installation and wiring of new plant equipment, and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical faults on PLC-controlled systems.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Relevant third-level qualification in Engineering or a time-served Electrician/Fitter (Electrical or Mechanical)
* Minimum 3 years of experience in a maintenance technician role within an FMCG or industrial environment
* Strong understanding of planned and reactive maintenance practices
* Experience with PLCs, control diagnostics, and temperature or PC-controlled systems

Key Responsibilities Include Providing frontline maintenance support to ensure production continuity, performing both scheduled and reactive maintenance tasks across the facility, conducting installation, wiring, and commissioning of new plant equipment, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical faults on PLC-controlled systems, carrying out regular facility checks including meter readings and discrepancies, liaising with equipment suppliers for installations, upgrades, and technical troubleshooting, collaborating with the team to drive uptime and reduce downtime across utilities and production areas, managing on-site contractors, including safety permits and induction processes, supporting Lean and continuous improvement initiatives and participating in relevant projects.
