Clinical Nurse Specialist Palliative Care Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist in Palliative Care to join our team at an established hospital in North Dublin.
Key Responsibilities:
* Patient Assessment and Support: Assess the needs of patients, families, and carers, providing specific advice and support as needed.
* Multi-Disciplinary Team Support: Advise and support teams to deliver high-quality care, including pain and symptom control, care planning, social and psychological care, communication, and resources.
* Patient Education: Provide information to patients and their carers about their disease, treatment, and available services.
* Specialist Care Provision: Work with primary care teams to provide specialist palliative care to those who require it.
* Pain and Symptom Control: Offer advice and support to patients with palliative care needs.
* Care Needs Assessment: Conduct initial assessments to determine referred patients' particular care needs.
* Liaison with Healthcare Professionals: Liaise with relevant healthcare professionals to determine patient needs.
Requirements:
* Nursing Registration: Registered on the General Division of the Register of Nurses (NMBI).
* Specialized Education: Higher Diploma in Palliative Care area.
* Experience: At least 3-5 years of relevant experience.
* Clinical and Professional Ability: Proven clinical and professional ability.
* Management Experience: Management experience desirable but not essential.
* Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Leadership and Management Skills: Leadership and management skills.
* IT Skills: Good IT skills.
* Initiative and Teamwork: Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
* Approachable and Empathetic: Approachable person with empathy.
