Job Description
As a Social Care Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, or acquired brain injuries. You will work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional quality person-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide care and support through a person-centered approach that meets the practical, physical, and emotional needs of residents.
* Act as a key worker for named residents where appropriate, supporting them with their daily plans and individual goals.
* Provide support with living skills such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, attending appointments, and family visits.
* Contribute to the on-floor duty team and assist with the coordination of shifts while on duty.
* Supervise other staff under your direction, reporting to the person in charge.
Requirements:
* Hold a qualification at Level 7 or above that meets the criteria for registration as a Social Care Worker with CORU.
* Have experience working in a residential, respite, or day service setting with persons with intellectual disabilities.
* Knowledge of quality assurance practices and their application to service provision.
* Understand clinical and human resource policies and procedures, as well as relevant legislation.
* Be familiar with National Disability Standards (HIQA).
