Responsibilities
* Establishing a team of high performing engineers focused on improving the security hardening of the OSes for PlayStation devices with an emphasis on global collaboration.
* Drive projects across the theme of security hardening from the kernel and driver layers, including memory safety technology adoption, mitigation deployment, sandboxing/isolation, refactoring, and other approaches / tooling as necessary.
* Building new methodologies for identifying and mitigating security threats to PlayStation low-level systems in collaboration with our global security teams across our platforms
* Collaborate closely with hypervisor, platform security and other OS teams(driver, integration) to improve security while balancing performance and productization concerns
* This role requires openness to new ways of approaching low-level software to achieve stronger security.
Desired Qualifications
* Degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
* Experience leading high-performing engineering teams who collaborate with peer teams globally, balancing technical innovation and excellence along with strong people management.
* Background in kernel hardening, low-level system hardening, exploit mitigation. Familiarity with the security community
* Expertise to lead a team to deliver with an RTOS kernel – preferably BSD-based or real-time implementations of POSIX-type kernels such as Linux will be considered
* Experience in operating within a distributed team with international travel to accelerate collaboration as needed
* Provide mentorship and growth for team members
* Plus if have done upstreaming to Open-Source OSes for security fixes
* Experience with C and C++ languages along with an understanding of associated toolchains
* Has collaborated with hardware teams and vendors for low level function and debugging
