Role OverviewA leading main contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a Commercial project in Newbridge.This is a site-based role with full responsibility for the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of the project from early works through to completion and handover. You will lead the site team and manage all programme, commercial, quality, and safety aspects of the build, ensuring delivery to the highest standards.Key ResponsibilitiesTake full responsibility for the delivery of the project in line with programme, budget, and quality targets.Lead and coordinate the site team including Engineers, Site Managers, and subcontractors.Act as the main point of contact between the client, design team, and site operations.Develop, manage, and control the construction programme and key milestones.Chair site progress meetings and ensure works are sequenced efficiently.Identify programme risks early and implement mitigation strategies to maintain delivery targets.Commercial & Cost ControlWork closely with the commercial team to manage project budgets, valuations, and variations.Review subcontractor performance and cost forecasts.Ensure effective cost control and value engineering where appropriate.Design, Quality & ComplianceCoordinate design information and manage RFIs and technical queries.Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, and Building Regulations.Oversee BCAR compliance, inspections, certification, and handover documentation.Manage snagging and defect resolution to achieve smooth project close-out.Health & SafetyLead the implementation of the site Safety Management Plan.Ensure compliance with all health & safety legislation and company procedures.Promote a strong safety culture across site operations and subcontractors.Stakeholder & ReportingMaintain strong working relationships with the client, consultants, and statutory bodies.Provide regular progress, cost, and risk updates to senior management.Ensure accurate project reporting and record-keeping throughout the project lifecycle.Candidate RequirementsDegree qualified in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.8+ years’ experience in project management roles with a main contractor.Previous experience delivering education or public sector projects is highly desirable.Strong understanding of Public Works Contracts, Building Regulations, and BCAR.Proven ability to lead site teams and manage subcontractor performance.Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills.This is a confidential opportunity, and full details will be shared only with genuinely interested and suitable candidates.
