Clerk of Works | Dublin Vickerstock Recruitment are pleased to be partnering with a highly regarded engineering consultancy to support the appointment of a Clerk of Works on a 24-month contract to support delivery on a major infrastructure programme. This site-based role will play a key quality assurance function, ensuring that construction works are delivered in accordance with design standards, specification requirements and best practice engineering principles. Your new role as Clerk of Works You will be based on site and will work closely with the Resident Engineer and wider project team to monitor quality, compliance and workmanship throughout all stages of construction. Key responsibilities will include: Conducting regular inspections of civil and infrastructure works to ensure compliance with contract documents, drawings and specifications. Monitoring workmanship, materials, finishes and overall construction quality. Identifying non-conformances and raising appropriate records, actions and follow-ups. Preparing clear, detailed inspection reports and photographic records. Liaising with contractors, site teams and engineers to resolve quality issues. Checking materials on delivery and reporting any discrepancies. Ensuring that works are constructed in line with approved programmes and quality expectations. Supporting the project quality function and contributing to continuous improvement on site. You will be expected to apply sound judgement, maintain meticulous records and take a proactive approach in supporting quality outcomes throughout the contract period. What you'll need to succeed To be considered for this Clerk of Works contract role, you'll ideally demonstrate: A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction, Building Technology or a related discipline. Previous experience in a Clerk of Works, Site Inspector or similar quality assurance role on infrastructure / civil projects. Strong technical understanding of civil construction methods, materials and specifications. Excellent observational skills and attention to detail. The ability to prepare accurate inspection reports and present findings clearly. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with contractor and design teams. A proactive and organised approach to site-based quality control. Knowledge of standard construction contracts and health & safety requirements on live sites would be advantageous.
