Position Summary
Provide technical support for manufacturing equipment, repairing, maintaining, and modifying production assets. Utilize technical manuals, schematic drawings, precision tools, and test equipment to ensure equipment uptime and product quality.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead installation, testing, and commissioning of automation systems, including FAT/SAT and equipment qualification activities.
* Monitor, analyze, and improve performance of automated systems to ensure consistent product quality and uptime.
* Diagnose and repair assembly line equipment, performing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
* Document equipment qualifications and upgrades, maintaining repair history in Asset Management.
* Participate in tiered performance meetings to report equipment status and contribute to problem‑solving discussions.
* Initiate and complete technical activities for new or improved automated equipment, preparing reports and presentations.
* Analyze and solve equipment performance problems using advanced engineering principles.
* Develop expertise in automation engineering principles to become a recognized leader.
* Review and refine spare parts lists to ensure availability of critical components while minimizing inventory costs.
* Stay updated with the latest advancements in automation technology and industry trends.
Qualifications
* National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) level 6 in a relevant discipline and 6+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Extensive knowledge of complex technical concepts, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, actuators, SCADA Systems, EtherCAT Networks, Servo Controllers, and robotics. Ability to interpret advanced numerical and statistical data and software programs.
* Excellent problem‑solving, independent initiative, and creative approaches to troubleshooting and continuous quality improvement.
* Minimal supervision with objective‑based project completion. Projects reviewed at milestones or completion.
* Strong decision‑making and leadership skills, promoting group goals, motivating, and training maintenance technicians.
* Project planning and organization, initiating schedules and establishing priorities for substantial assignments.
