This is a technical underwriting role within Allianz Ireland\'s Construction team, responsible for underwriting a mix of complex Construction risks, with an element of multinational clients and exposure to portfolio business. The role requires technical expertise, sound judgement, and the ability to navigate global programme structures while ensuring alignment with Allianz Group standards and local regulatory requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and underwrite Construction and Renewables new business and renewal risks to achieve GWP targets and profitability targets.Support our new Renewable Power proposition through underwriting risk reviews and collaboration with senior underwriters and Allianz Group stakeholders.Lead engagements with brokers and their key clients with the support and collaboration of the Allianz Customer Relationship team to deliver on Allianz Construction and Liability targets.Support portfolio management and underwriting of our scheme business.Develop and maintain strong working relationships within the team and with other areas of the business and external stakeholders; support team colleagues in underwriting Construction and other Liability business as needed.Engage with internal stakeholders in Customer, Pricing and Portfolio management to negotiate terms and conduct detailed risk assessments within the existing Delegated Underwriting Authority (DUA) framework agreements.Share knowledge and technical expertise with colleagues; contribute to personal and team technical development.Identify and implement improvements in process, proposition or service to best serve our customer base.Maintain and develop strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to lead and support key client and broker engagements.Key Requirements / Skills & ExperienceEssential:CIP/MDI/ACII or equivalent professional qualification.2 years’ experience in commercial underwriting preferred.Exposure to Liability or Property underwriting lines preferred.Proven ability to assess complex risks and possess excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.Experience in growth and achieving targets.Demonstrated experience working in cross-functional teams or projects.Pro-active, positive, and solutions-oriented with a strong “can-do” approach to challenges and opportunities.Desirable:Construction / CAR / Renewable Energy / EAR / Inherent or Latent Defects experience would be valuable.Understanding of multinational program structures, fronting arrangements, and global compliance requirements.A relevant third level degree/qualification.Proficiency in Salesforce, i90 and competency with AI tools.Understanding of Data Analytics or AI principles is beneficial.Our BenefitsWe offer a competitive remuneration package, generous pension scheme contributions, health insurance, working from home allowance, wellbeing and family benefits, an onsite gym, well-connected location with onsite staff parking and free lunches.#LI-Hybrid This is a hybrid remote/in-office role.Allianz plc. is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland.Regulatory NoticeAppointment to this role will be subject to the requirements provided for by the Central Bank of Ireland.
