Job Description
Our client, Dundrum Steel Rhd Limited t/a ODS (O'Dwyer Steel), based in Dundrum, Co. Tipperary, is currently seeking Welders for an immediate start at their facility.
Responsibilities
* Operate welding equipment to join metal workpieces together.
* Use fusion welding processes based on various techniques and materials.
* Perform simple visual inspection of welds.
* Perform fillet welds, MIG welding and read drawings.
* Wear appropriate protective gear and adhere to safety standards.
* Smooth burr‑red surfaces and recognise metal imperfections.
* Apply knowledge of welding techniques, torch temperature, metal thermal conductivity and fuel gas.
* Ensure correct metal temperature and handle fuels.
* Recognise signs of corrosion and remove inadequate workpieces.
* Perform metal active‑gas welding and inert‑gas welding.
Qualifications
* 1–3 years of previous welding experience.
* Welding certification preferred but not essential.
* Competence in MIG welding, fillet welds and reading drawings.
* Knowledge of welding from drawings (2D and 3D).
* Experience in aligning components, joining metals and operating welding equipment, including oxy‑fuel torch.
* Experience in recognizing Corrosion signs and handling fuels.
* Experience in performing metal active‑gas welding and inert‑gas welding.
Compensation
Annual remuneration: €34,000.00; Pay rate: €16.77 per hour; Work location: Dundrum Steel Rhd Limited t/a ODS (O'Dwyer Steel), Main St, Garryduff East, Dundrum, Co. Tipperary, E34 YW77; Hours per week: 39.
