Overview
Manufacturing Engineer - P1 at Boston Scientific. Location: Clonmel, Ireland. Position: Permanent, no shift. Closing Date: November 11.

Purpose
Provides support to the Manufacturing organization to facilitate efficient operations within the production area, to optimize existing processes, and to ensure that production metrics are met. Works primarily on improvement and sustaining activities within the Scope Production unit. Monitors performance of equipment, machines and tools and corrects equipment problems or process parameters that produce non-conforming products or product quality issues. Interfaces with Quality and Research and Development to integrate new products or processes into the existing manufacturing area. Part of a diverse engineering team supporting the Scope Process with growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
* Initiates and completes technical activities leading to new or improved processes for current programs, next generation programs and to meet strategic goals and objectives. Prepares reports, publishes, and makes presentations to communicate findings.
* Analyzes and solves problems from basic engineering principles through to a wide range of complex problems which may require innovative approaches or breakthroughs in technology.
* Understands engineering principles, theories, concepts, practices and techniques. Develops knowledge to become a recognized leader in an area of specialization and applies this knowledge in leadership roles in the company.
* Incorporates business policies and procedures into task completion. Understands business needs and customer needs. Understands the business cycle and emerging technology trends.
* Cultivates internal and external networks of resources to complete tasks. Leads projects, sets goals and objectives. Mentors employees by sharing technical expertise and providing feedback and guidance.
* Collaborates cross-functionally with internal and external customers.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s Honours degree (level 8) in a relevant field.
* 1+ years of experience, ideally within Medical Devices.
* Proficient in problem-solving and problem-solving techniques.
* Equipment and process validation experience.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Tool qualification experience.
* Core computer skills – Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
* Understanding/adherence/promoting GMP practices.
