We are currently seeking an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join the dedicated team at Raheny Veterinary Hospital on a fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled vet to join a well-established, forward-thinking practice and contribute to the ongoing delivery of high-quality veterinary care in North Dublin.
This role is ideal for a confident clinician who thrives in a busy, team oriented environment. You’ll work alongside a collaborative group of veterinary professionals and have access to an impressive array of diagnostic and surgical equipment.
Role Overview
Contract Type: Full-time, Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)
Start Date: End of September / Start of October 2025
Working Patterns: 39 hours per week, with 1 in 3 weekends
No OOH or On-Call Duties
Salary: Up to €60,000 depending on experience
This position is best suited to veterinary surgeon with prior experience in first opinion practice. Unfortunately, it is not suitable for new graduates or those requiring mentorship.

* We are a supportive and collaborative team of 9 Vets, 8 Veterinary Nurses, 2 Animal Care Assistants, and 9 support staff. We take pride in fostering a positive work environment that promotes continuous learning, clinical excellence, and genuine care for our patients and their families.
Requirements – What We’re Looking For
* VCI registered Veterinary Surgeon available to start late September or early October 2025
* Experienced in small animal practice – all levels of experience considered (not suitable for new graduates)
* Confident in both medical and surgical cases
* Strong team player with a patient centred approach to care
