Orange Recruitment are seeking an accomplished Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client's dynamic commercial team on a major project located in Midleton, County Cork. Duties: Take full ownership of the commercial aspects of the project from early-stage planning to final account settlement. Monitor and manage cost forecasts, budgets, and cash flow across all stages of the build. Oversee the negotiation and administration of contracts, and implement effective procurement strategies. Manage subcontractor onboarding, valuations, performance reviews, and payment processes. Compile and deliver clear, concise cost reports for internal teams and clients. Support project risk analysis, cost planning, and value engineering initiatives. Guide and mentor junior team members, contributing to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing. Collaborate with site management, design consultants, and project leaders to ensure commercial goals are aligned with project delivery milestones. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or equivalent qualification. At least 7 years' experience in a similar role, ideally with a main contractor. Demonstrated success managing large-scale commercial or residential construction projects. Strong grasp of Irish building legislation and experience with RIAI or GCCC contract forms. Confident communicator with strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical abilities. Proficient in industry-standard cost management and reporting software (e.g., Buildsoft, Cubit).
