Carambolavalue passionate people who would enjoy collaborating with our team to ensure the exemplary standards of food safety, quality and regulatory compliance are maintained.Carambola are currently recruiting for aFood Safety Managerfor our food manufacturing facility in Annacotty in Limerick.Reports to: Board of Management.Main Duties and Responsibilities:· Manage compliance from our FSPA Quality Award, HACCP and all food standards.· Proactively identify, review and take ownership for improvement of our FSMS analyse any gaps that require Procedures and SOP’s.· Co-ordinate Food Safety training and information distribution within the organisation which will enable the different aspects of the company to deliver their quality and food safety role requirements to a competent level.· Lead the prevention and control of all non-conformances.· Lead incident investigations to establish root cause and corrective and preventive actions where necessary.· Maintain and report all weekly and monthly Food Safety incidents to management team.· Oversee the verification and maintenance and validation of the process.· Lead 3rd party accreditation standards for the organisation.· Assume the Role of Leader of Internal Audit, Traceability and HACCP team.· Lead site audits, customer visits, supplier visits, and visits from regulatory bodies.· This list is not exhaustive.· Bachelor’s degree in food safety (minimum Level 5)Or a related discipline.· Knowledge of food safety, microbiology and related Legislative requirements(particularly EC2073:2005).· Excellent organizational, administrative, time management and interpersonal skills.· Trusted and proactive team player, supporting team colleagues in driving a culture of continuous improvement.· Excellent report writing and procedural writing skills.· Integrity in dealing with confidential and sensitive information.· Sound knowledge of food production processes.· Knowledge of role out of sampling plan and interpreting results.· Flexible to the needs of the business and ability to work on own initiative and work under pressure.· Fluent in spoken and written English.· Minimum three years experience in similar role mandatory.The company works in line with the school calendar year, so there may be periods of school holidays where you will not be required to work.
