Purpose of the Post
The Team Leader, in conjunction with the Service Manager, will oversee all aspects of service delivery within the Emergency environments, ensuring safety and support for families accessing housing, educational, childcare, and health services. The service collaborates with Westmeath County Council's Homeless Section, serving the Midlands Region.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide leadership to develop a service that supports families to resolve issues and improve quality of life.
* Develop and evaluate service plans aligned with policies and operational requirements.
* Manage staff and ensure effective implementation of care and case management frameworks.
* Support out-of-hours operations and emergency accommodations.
Environment of the Post
The service provides emergency accommodation for up to 8 families, focusing on resolving barriers to long-term housing solutions, emphasizing parental needs and responsibilities.
Reporting and Accountability
The Service Manager reports to the Head of Services, who reports to the CEO and Board of Directors.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership

* Handle community and stakeholder feedback professionally.
Strategic & Policy Development
* Contribute to data analysis and policy development.
* Ensure compliance with organizational and national policies.
Service Delivery & Housing Management
* Oversee day-to-day service operations.
* Manage referrals, occupancy, and exit procedures fairly and effectively.
* Ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance with health and safety standards.
People Management
* Manage staff including recruitment, training, supervision, and development.
* Foster a positive team environment and ensure effective communication.
General Responsibilities
* Maintain accurate records and statistics.
* Coordinate with stakeholders on welfare, budget, and quality issues.
Qualifications and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Social Care Practice (Level 7 or 8 on QQI), or equivalent.
* At least 2 years managerial experience in a similar setting.
Skills and Competencies
* Knowledge of homelessness, mental health, substance misuse, and vulnerable populations.
* Strong leadership, communication, and report writing skills.
* Ability to analyze complex information and make evidence-based decisions.
* Operational excellence in managing results and resources.
