Design EngineerCompany:Boeing Ireland LimitedTo lead the future of commercial aircraft modification within Boeing Commercial Modifications Europe, we are seeking a Design Engineer to join our Part 21 Electrical Engineering Team in Dublin.The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing large aircraft modifications for our global airline and lessor partners, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory and customer requirements as outlined in the company's Design Organization Handbook (DOH).This position is based in our Design Office in Dublin, Ireland, with expected travel to other international sites as needed.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with the Electrical / Avionics Engineering Manager and the global engineering services team across multiple time zones to identify requirements and develop solutions for active and upcoming design projects.Lead and contribute to design activities, ensuring compliance with design requirements and addressing certification and integration issues related to electrical and avionics equipment and systems changes as part of large aircraft modifications.Compile, check and verify engineering documentation and instructions for continued airworthiness, including:Wiring diagramsWire routing installation drawings and harness fabrication drawingsService Bulletins and accomplishment instructionsAircraft and component manual ICA supplements, including wiring diagram manuals, system schematic manuals, and EWIS inspection tasksProvide input to and be able to prepare certification documents to demonstrate compliance with relevant electrical systems-related airworthiness requirements, including:Electrical load analysis documentsTest plans and reportsCompliance StatementsSystem Safety, Equipment Qualification, and EWIS documentsCertification ProgrammesPlay a significant role in mentoring and developing junior engineers in order to grow the capabilities of the teamRepresent Boeing during customer milestone meetings support of active and upcoming projectsWhere necessary, provide on-site support to assist customers during the physical embodiment phase of the projectThis role will require occasional international travel to visit teammates, customers, and subcontractors.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Electrical / Avionics or Aerospace / Aeronautical EngineeringA minimum of three years of relevant experience, ideally within an EASA Design Organization or equivalent. Alternatively, ten years of relevant experience in the aviation industryPreferred Skills / Experience:Current or recent employment within the aerospace industry, specifically with an EASA Part 21J Design Organization (or equivalent)Ability to decipher customer and regulatory requirements into practical and certifiable design solutionsStrong skills with electrical design tools such as AutoCAD and CATIA, particularly in the development of wiring installation drawingsBasic knowledge of EASA regulatory and airworthiness requirements, including (E)TSO, CS-25, JAR-25, and FAR-25 requirements relevant to the electrical/avionics disciplineKnowledge and experience in aircraft interior and/or avionics modificationsExperience with large and complex aircraft modification projects (or similar scope projects within the aviation industry)High attention to detail and professional integrityAbility to efficiently manage multiple programs with varying requirementsStrong prioritization skills and adaptability to changing situations/demandsEffective collaboration with colleagues and customers, embodying the core values of honesty, integrity, and transparencyProven ability to mentor and coach less experienced staffExperience navigating OEM data systems for specifications and standardsAbout You:You are a person of integrity who values trust, honesty, and respect.
