Job Description:
This position will be responsible for working alongside the Director/Team Leader of R&D Procurement & Supplier Management in developing and executing a multi-year sourcing strategy that expands the capability and flexibility of working with external partners across the R&D organization at Organon.
Responsibilities will include managing activities in support of our current (and future) outsourced scope of work, managing processes, systems, and connections between external partners and stakeholders within Organon R&D, including Nonclinical/Early & Late Clinical/Outcomes Research (OR) functional teams and Global Procurement, to ensure efficient and high-quality research activities delivered on time globally.
The incumbent is expected to have a working knowledge of and skills in functions such as clinical trial operations, outcomes research, outsourcing, and project/program management.
Responsibilities:
* Support onboarding of vendor resources and facilitate their ability to execute sourced scope of work.
* Manage outsourced activities in translational medicine/nonclinical, clinical operations, pre-clinical, and outcomes research efficiently and on time.
* Identify and escalate issues related to delivery of high-quality, timely materials and services.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external parties to ensure optimal delivery of sourced work, define objectives, and actively manage vendor performance via metrics.
* Collaborate with vendors to develop new capabilities and improve existing processes continually.
* Support annual business planning and analyze/propose the financial plan related to external partner expenditures.
Required Education, Experience and Skills:
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in pharmaceutical R&D.
* Experience in a drug development outsourced model, either on the outsourcer or client side, with the ability to translate learnings to clinical and medical affairs outsourcing.
* Experience leading successful project delivery (pipeline, business improvement, change management).
* Knowledge of clinical operations, study management, medical affairs operations, and outcomes research for pharmaceuticals, vaccines, or biologics.
* Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively in matrix organizations.
* At least 3-5 years of experience in healthcare/life sciences project management, clinical operations, or medical affairs involving external partners.
* Understanding of vendor selection/management for clinical studies.
* Knowledge of outcomes research using real-world data.
* Travel may be required (10%).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills in difficult situations.
* Ability to work seamlessly across all levels and demonstrate cultural sensitivity in multi-country, multi-cultural environments.
