Overview
Summary Jabil is seeking a Lead Test Engineer who will directly contribute to the validation test solutions and processes in place for a server hardware manufacturing facility. Location: Dublin 15, Blanchardstown – on-site position.
Provide technical leadership and direction to workcell test engineering staff operating within area of assigned responsibilities. Drive best practices at technical and behavioral levels to enable rapid problem definition and resolution in the test environment. Enable growth and development of technical staff through coaching and mentoring, formally and informally, to deliver shift/WC autonomy and increased facility capacity. Lead NPI and New Technology Introductions through forecasting and strategic planning to enable site capability on time and on budget with complete stakeholder alignment. Manage compliance internally and externally for test regulatory requirements and global standards. Build trusting relationships with peers, management, stakeholders and customers to enable a psychological safe environment where growth and learning are paramount.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Leadership and Management Responsibilities: Communication - concise, clear communication both written and oral through all media; take the lead in crisis situations and keep all stakeholders informed and aligned.
Recruitment and Retention: support candidate screening, interviews, training, development, engagement as necessary to hire and retain the best.
Employee and Team Development: identify individual/team strengths and development needs; create and/or validate training curriculum in area of responsibility; coach and mentor Test Engineering staff to deliver excellence to internal and external customers.
Performance Management: define clear measurable goals and objectives; solicit ongoing feedback from stakeholders and team members; provide ongoing coaching based on feedback.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Business Strategy and Direction – understand campus strategic directions; define, develop and implement test engineering strategies to support campus directions; provide regular updates on execution.
Cost Management: identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems; monitor departmental cost and cost trends, striving to improve value.
Technical Management Responsibilities: Lead technical problem solving for the team; drive LEAN initiatives to reduce waste and realize incremental improvements; be the technical expert in Test Engineering and lead discussions to develop the best solutions.
Engage with operations and customers to accelerate problem definition, containment, and deliver the best solution for the team and organization.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelors of Science in Electronics or Electrical Engineering (Level 8+) from a recognised college or university and ten years of relevant experience.
Experience in a similar manufacturing environment is advantageous.
