Description
St. Michael's House is a community based voluntary organisation founded in **** which provides facilities and services to over 1,700 people with intellectual disabilities and their families in the greater Dublin area.
We are currently looking to recruit for the following post: Speech and Language Therapy Assistant (Adult Services) – Permanent, Full Time.
Applications are invited for a permanent and full time Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to join the Adult Services Speech and Language Therapy Department in St. Michael's House.
The successful candidate will join the existing team of Speech and Language Therapists in supporting the delivery of quality Speech and Language Therapy Services to adults with intellectual disabilities.
St. Michael's House seeks to employ proactive and progressive individuals who identify with the ethos of providing a continuum of innovative services that support people with an intellectual disability to live full lives in the community.
The successful candidate will support the delivery of Speech and Language Therapy services to adults with intellectual disabilities in close co-operation with multidisciplinary clinical and frontline colleagues.
Supervision will be provided by a Senior Speech and Language Therapist; line management is by the SLT Manager in Charge.
The SLTA post will predominantly support our Ballymun and Coolock regions; some flexibility across the St. Michael's House regions may be required in response to service user needs.

Qualifications and Skills
FETAC level 5 qualification in Speech and Language Therapy Assistant Course
Working experience in a healthcare setting with adults with an intellectual disability
Working experience supporting Speech and Language Therapists in the delivery of SLT services to adults with an intellectual disability
Excellent communication, interpersonal and team work skills
Administrative and IT skills
Full clean driver's licence and use of a car
Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support families and staff
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Powerpoint and Excel
Commitment to completing further training as relevant to the role
