We are looking for a Junior Buyer to join our teamKey Responsibilities:To optimize the flow of products so as to fill all orders on time, resulting in maximum sales, whist ensuring all related costs are kept to a minimum.Ordering: Process daily and weekly purchase order requirements through set of preferred vendors to ensure all orders are placed correctly, on time and in fullStock management: Ensure stock (Fresh, Ambient, Frozen categories) is available to fulfil all customer orders, without excess.Key performance indicators: Missed salesWastesSuppliers relationship: Negotiate best credit terms and prices (fully integrated – supplier & transport)Market awarenessBuild long term relationships with suppliersKey competenciesGood knowledge of the food distribution sector – fresh / frozen / dry goods.Strong Organisational and Planning skills.Ability to focus and prioritise tasks.Good Communicator – both internal and externalNegotiation skills.Ability to work well under pressure.Qualifications / ExperienceEducation or experience in Procurement or Supply Chain is an advantageProficient in Word and ExcelA second language gives a distinct advantage
