About the Role
On behalf of our client in public health, Allpro Recruitment is seeking an experienced and motivated Social Work Team Leader to lead and support a multidisciplinary social work team in South Tipperary. This is a key leadership position responsible for the delivery of high-quality child protection, welfare, family support, and safeguarding services to children, young people, and families throughout the region. The role combines frontline social work expertise with team leadership, service development, and operational management.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the day-to-day delivery of social work services within a multidisciplinary team environment
Provide professional supervision, mentoring, and support to social workers and other team members
Oversee complex child protection, welfare, and family support cases, ensuring appropriate interventions and outcomes
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, national policies, regulations, and organisational standards
Promote best practice in safeguarding, risk assessment, case management, and service delivery
Manage team performance, workload allocation, and staff development
Contribute to service planning, quality improvement initiatives, and change management projects
Develop and maintain effective partnerships with families, community organisations, schools, healthcare providers, An Garda Síochána, and other stakeholders
Prepare reports, participate in audits, and support governance and performance management requirements
Represent the service at case conferences, court proceedings, interagency meetings, and professional forums as required
Essential Requirements
Current CORU registration as a Social Worker
A minimum of three years' post-qualification experience in social work practice, preferably within child protection, welfare, or family support service
Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, or management experience
Strong understanding of child protection legislation, safeguarding frameworks, and social work best practice
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational, and decision-making skills
Full clean driving licence and access to transport
Desirable Criteria
Previous experience within statutory child and family services
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams
Postgraduate qualification in management, leadership, social work, or a related field
Experience in quality assurance, service development, and performance improvement initiatives
