Senior Staff Product Transfer Quality Engineer – Stryker
The Product Transfer Quality Team at Stryker is seeking a highly skilled and motivatedSenior Staff Product Transfer Quality Engineerto lead quality assurance efforts for product transfers.
In this pivotal role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams across the organization to ensure quality objectives and project timelines are achieved, while aligning with Stryker’s strategic goals and quality standards.
You will provide leadership and technical expertise in quality assurance, control, and preventive practices, with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement of internal products and processes. As a champion of quality, you will drive initiatives and lead projects aimed at enhancing performance for both the business and our customers. Additionally, you will mentor team members and offer technical guidance across multiple disciplines, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
What You Will Do
As aSenior Staff Product Transfer Quality Engineer, you will play a key leadership role in driving quality excellence across product transfers. Your responsibilities will include:
* Quality Leadership & Strategy: Provide expert guidance in quality assurance, control, and preventive practices. Set quality strategy using a risk-based approach, particularly around First Article Inspections (FAIs), inspection certifications, and related quality tools.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Transfer teams, business functions, divisional and site QA, and suppliers to ensure robust quality performance of products and processes.
* Process Improvement: Lead and contribute to the development and optimization of internal processes for existing products undergoing transfer.
* Change Management: Critically assess and support internal and supplier-driven change management activities to ensure compliance and quality continuity.
* Continuous Improvement: Participate in and potentially lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product and process quality.
* Standards & Procedures: Contribute to the development of procedures and industry standards in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
* Project Leadership: Lead and mentor others in planning, executing, and documenting deliverables required for product transfers, ensuring alignment with corporate processes, quality standards, and cost/time objectives.
* Supplier Development: Mentor suppliers in the application of quality standards and statistical techniques, particularly for Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation.
* Execution of Quality Deliverables: Perform and oversee PPAP activities and other Product transfer quality deliverables.
* Validation Oversight: Review and approve validation and qualification documentation to ensure regulatory and quality compliance
What You Will Need
* Bachelor’s degreein Science, Engineering, or a related field, witha minimum of 6 years of experiencein validation and quality
OR
* Master’s degreein Science, Engineering, or a related field, with5 to 7 years of relevant experience
OR
* PhDin a related discipline, withat least 2 years of experience
