Knockanrawley Resource Centre CLG (KRC) is a community development organisation working in Tipperary Town and surrounding areas since 1991. KRC is the lead agency delivering the WorkAbility Programme (2024–2028) in South Tipperary.
We are now seeking a Job Coach / Employment Support Officer to support young people with disabilities to develop the confidence, skills and independence needed to progress into education, training and employment.
About the Role
This is a frontline, person-centred role working with young people aged 16+ with physical, sensory and intellectual disabilities.
The Job Coach / Employment Support Officer will provide individualised employment supports including job-seeking skills, pre-employment preparation, employer engagement, work placement support and ongoing mentoring. The role works closely with the WorkAbility Project Coordinator and partner organisations and is based across Tipperary Town and Cashel, with travel required throughout the region.
Key Responsibilities
* Build trusting, supportive relationships with programme participants
* Provide one-to-one mentoring, job-seeking and work-readiness supports
* Support vocational assessments and the development of Personal Progression / Employment Plans
* Guide and support participants before, during and after work placements or job opportunities
* Engage with employers to promote inclusive employment opportunities
* Carry out job analysis and environmental assessments
* Support transitions into employment, education or training
* Assist in sourcing and facilitating pre-employment training and development activities
* Maintain accurate participant records and contribute to programme reporting
* Promote strong links with partner agencies and local services
* Uphold confidentiality, equality, diversity and community development values
Essential Requirements
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a Job Coach, Employment Support, Supported Employment or similar role
* Experience working with people with disabilities
* Understanding of employment within a disability and inclusion context
* Experience developing Personal Progression Plans or Employment Plans
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (CRM experience desirable)
* Relevant nationally recognised qualification (preferably NFQ Level 6 or 7)
* Full clean driving licence and access to own transport
Desirable
* Coaching, Career Guidance or Career Counselling qualification
* Train the Trainer (Level 6) or Facilitation Skills qualification
* Knowledge of person-centred and community development approaches
