Data Center Project Manager, Critical Projects Implementation (CPI)
Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The CPI team manages construction activity within the operational data center spaces, focusing on critical infrastructure improvement projects that optimize the use of space, power, and cooling. We are seeking a Data Center Project Manager to serve as a technical resource within Amazon data centers, overseeing projects across electrical, mechanical, controls, and architectural disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide project management for initiatives aimed at increasing the resiliency of our data centers.
* Electrical design and review of designs associated with the optimization of existing data centers.
* Construction/project package drawing review.
* Create project scope, RFPs, and capital requests.
* Oversee commissioning plans and overall project execution.
* Record and report key metrics to team members and management.
* Operational support including review of procedures, best practices, and maintenance initiatives.
* Lead troubleshooting and root cause failure analysis for equipment or electrical failures.
* Work with contractors and vendors to deliver efficient and high‑quality project turnovers.
* Serve as a leader within the group and in collaboration with internal and external teams.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
* Experience in vendor management and data center engineering or operations.
* Experience in construction or project management, preferably in a critical environment.
* Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
* Electrical or mechanical Journeyman License or equivalent operating engineering license (e.g., DC II, DC III).
