We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Cardiac Physiologist to join a hospital in Dublin, Ireland.
This is a permanent, full-time position, working 35 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities Perform and interpret a wide range of non-invasive cardiac diagnostic tests, including ECGs, Holter monitoring, ambulatory BP monitoring, exercise stress testing, and echocardiography (as applicable to scope of role).
Provide specialist cardiac investigations and support within invasive and non-invasive cardiology services, in line with hospital protocols and best practice.
Assist in cardiac catheterisation laboratories, including pacing, angiography, and interventional procedures, where required.
Ensure accurate clinical reporting, documentation, and data management in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
Support consultants and multidisciplinary teams in the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred cardiac care.
Supervise, mentor, and support junior cardiac physiologists and students, contributing to training and service development.
Maintain and operate cardiac diagnostic equipment, ensuring quality control, calibration, and infection prevention standards are met.
Participate in clinical audit, research, service improvement initiatives, and ongoing professional development.
Adhere to hospital policies, health and safety standards, and professional codes of practice at all times.
Participate in on-call, extended hours, or rota systems as required by the service.
Requirements BSc in Clinical Measurement Science, Certificate in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurement (MPPM), or an equivalent recognised qualification.
A minimum of three years' post-qualification experience working as a Cardiac Physiologist.
Substantial experience in the independent performance and reporting of echocardiograms Substantial experience as an independent operator in the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory, including angiography, angioplasty (including primary PCI), right heart studies, and CTO procedures.
ESE, BSE, or equivalent echocardiography accreditation or BHRS or equivalent accreditation.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Experience in cardiac pacing and ICD follow-up.
Substantial experience as an independent operator in electrophysiology procedures, including electrophysiological studies, radiofrequency ablation, loop recorder insertion, pacemaker implantation, and ICD implantation.
