Our client, a highly respected wealth and investment manager with a strong UK heritage and ambitious European expansion plans, is establishing its EU hub in Dublin. As part of this growth, the firm seeks an exceptional individual to take on the role of Head of Wealth Planning & Investment Oversight.
In this senior, ExCo-level position, you will hold PCF-30 accountability and combine investment governance, oversight, and leadership with meaningful influence over the firm’s investment and wealth planning proposition.
Key Responsibilities
* Investment Oversight – Lead the supervision and monitoring of portfolio management, investment advice, and financial planning across the firm. Ensure adherence to the group’s investment process and risk framework, maintaining consistent standards for suitability, performance, and client outcomes.
* Governance & Risk – Chair the Investment Oversight & Outsourcing Committee and report to the Board and Executive Committee on investment performance, monitoring results, and delegated functions. Oversee third‑party and intra‑group providers to ensure proper controls and accountability.
* Leadership & Collaboration – Partner closely with the Group CIO, MD, and senior leadership teams across Wealth, Compliance, and Risk to align investment oversight with client and business objectives. Foster collaboration between portfolio managers, financial planners, and compliance professionals.
* Regulatory Accountability – Serve as the firm’s PCF‑30 (Chief Investment Officer) under the Central Bank of Ireland framework, ensuring continuous compliance with fitness and probity, conduct, and consumer duty obligations.
* Strategic Evolution – Contribute to the ongoing development of the investment and wealth planning proposition for the EU entity, influencing design and governance of investment frameworks as the platform scales.
The Individual
* Strong background in investment management, investment risk, or portfolio oversight, ideally within wealth or asset management.
* Demonstrated expertise in portfolio construction, suitability, and performance analysis.
* Credible and confident at Board/ExCo level, capable of influencing senior stakeholders and regulators.
* Deep understanding of discretionary and advisory investment processes with HNW or retail client exposure.
* Proven ability to lead teams, mentor professionals, and drive a culture of accountability and collaboration.
* Holds or eligible for PCF‑30 approval; ideally CFA, CISI Chartered Wealth Manager, PCIAM, or equivalent.
