The Role
We are seeking a Junior–Mid Data Analytics & Data Science Specialist to join our growing team in Ireland. This role is ideal for someone early in their data career who is excited about applying AI/ML techniquesto real-world challenges in renewables and energy markets.
You will work on projects involving energy generation, demand, pricing, and asset performance, developing analytical models and insights that support forecasting, optimisation, and market analysis. You'll be supported by senior team members while gaining hands-on experience across the full analytics lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyse and interpret datasets related to renewables, energy markets, and energy systems (e.g. wind/solar generation, demand, prices)
* Build and maintain analytical models and data science workflows using Python
* Apply machine learning techniques to forecasting, pattern detection, and optimisation problems
* Support the development of dashboards and visualisations for internal teams and clients
* Clean, transform, and validate data from multiple sources
* Translate business and operational questions into analytical tasks and clearly present findings
* Collaborate with engineers, consultants, and energy specialists on end-to-end solutions
* Continuously develop skills in AI/ML, analytics, and energy market fundamentals
Required Skills & Experience
* 1–3+ years of experience in data analytics, data science, or a related role
* Strong Python skills and experience with data science libraries (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn)
* Solid foundation in statistics and analytical thinking
* Experience working with SQL and structured datasets
* Familiarity with data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Plotly, Grafana, or similar)
* Ability to explain technical results to non-technical stakeholders
* Strong interest in the energy industry, renewables, and energy markets
Desirable Skills
* Exposure to AI/ML techniques such as regression, classification, clustering, or time-series forecasting
* Experience working with renewable energy data (wind, solar, storage)
* Understanding of energy markets (e.g. pricing, bidding, balancing, or market operations)
* Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
* Basic knowledge of data pipelines, APIs, or version control (e.g. Git)
