About The Land Development Agency
The Land Development Agency (LDA) is a semi-State body that aims to maximize the supply of affordable homes on public and other lands in a sustainable manner, supporting thriving communities and delivering positive social impact. It is overseen by an independent board and funded with €5 billion of equity capital from the Government, with borrowing capacity up to €1.25 billion.
The LDA has initiated construction on several projects on State land, with a pipeline exceeding 17,000 homes. It collaborates with major homebuilders and aims to deliver a further 8,000 homes under the Government’s Project Tosaigh initiative. Additionally, it works on long-term strategic areas through master-planning and planning applications in locations like Limerick Colbert Quarter, Dublin’s Digital Hub, and Galway’s Sandy Road.
The Role
This position offers an excellent opportunity for a Site Manager to contribute to transformative residential and regeneration projects across Ireland throughout their development cycle. The ideal candidate will possess technical and commercial expertise in delivering landmark projects, along with strong teamwork, drive, work ethic, and adaptability to meet the challenges of the LDA’s mandate.
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager with over 3 years’ experience to join the Construction Team. The role involves assisting in the daily management of construction, technical, and operational aspects of projects.
Person Specifications/Requirements
The Role Will Include The Following Duties
1. Supervising on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications.
2. Ensuring works are constructed as required and supervising construction activities on-site.
3. Reporting to the Employer’s Representative.
4. Coordinating contract interfaces related to the works.
5. Assessing contractor claims and preparing related reports.
6. Reviewing contractor payment applications against work completed.
7. Evaluating contractor submissions, including method statements, and providing clear feedback.
8. Supervising works, maintaining records, measurements, managing correspondence, and contractual documentation.
9. Documenting detailed reports of all works and significant site events, including photographic records where necessary.
10. Ensuring all recorded work is approved prior to execution and documenting issues such as delays or disputes.
11. Participating in regular site meetings and alerting supervisory staff to any issues affecting their work.
12. Assisting with contract administration in compliance with safety, health, and welfare legislation.
13. Performing other duties as assigned.
Essential Requirements
* A degree or professional qualification in Engineering.
* Knowledge of civil engineering works, building construction, and project management.
* At least 3 years’ experience as a Site Manager or Resident Engineer with a proven track record.
* Experience in delivering residential projects.
* Knowledge of project management and safety regulations.
* Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
* Motivated, self-driven, and adaptable.
Experience
* Preferably 3 years post-qualification experience.
* Ability to work independently and within a team.
* Proactive, solutions-oriented, and results-focused.
* Interest in development processes and skills in project management, contractual, commercial, and stakeholder management.
* Understanding of technical principles, construction buildability, and value engineering is advantageous.
* Full clean driving license required for site travel.
