Position Overview
The Assistant Technical Superintendent will support the Chief Technical Superintendent in daily technical and operational matters related to the company’s managed vessels. This role is ideal for individuals with early-stage seagoing experience who are motivated to develop into a full Technical Superintendent within 2–3 years. Comprehensive onboard training and external technical courses will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical & Administrative Support
Assist the Chief Technical Superintendent in preparing docking documents and technical reports.
Collect, organize, and analyze operational and machinery data from assigned vessels.
Communicate with equipment manufacturers and service providers regarding technical inquiries and quotations.
2. Docking & Repair Support
Support the Technical Superintendent during dry‑docking and repair projects.
Participate in site supervision, progress monitoring, and coordination with shipyards and contractors.
3. Training & Development
Participate in onboard training on company-operated vessels.
Develop the competencies required to be promoted to Technical Superintendent within 2–3 years.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience
1–2 years of seagoing experience preferred (up to 10 years acceptable).
Experience on dangerous goods vessels is not required.
Skills & Attributes
Strong interest in vessel technical management and ship repair.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, multicultural environment.
High level of responsibility and willingness to learn.
