Job Overview:
The post holder will lead service delivery and the development of its accredited Blood Transfusion laboratory in order to meet the needs and requirements of its users and patients.

What you'll need to succeed:
We are looking for a highly competent and versatile Senior Biomedical Scientist with a strong background in Blood Transfusion to join this laboratory team.
The successful candidate will have in-depth subject knowledge and a proven track record in Blood Transfusion work, problem-solving, and staff supervision. You will bring a pragmatic approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain focus and perform effectively under pressure.

Eligibility Criteria
1. CORU-registered (or evidence of application in progress) Medical Scientist and eligible for Fellowship of the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine
2. At least four years' experience in blood transfusion since qualification At least two years' experience as a Senior MS in blood transfusion (desirable)
3. Advanced technical and theoretical knowledge of laboratory blood transfusion
4. Experience of service development and ISO15189 accreditation Demonstrable effective interaction with colleagues
5. Flexible, collaborative and committed to achievement of team and organisational objectives Patient-focused and influential with excellent communication skills
6. Knowledge and experience of risk management
7. Experience of JCI hospital accreditation (desirable
