Job Description:

The Great National Hotel Ballina is seeking a Duty Manager with Food & Beverage expertise to join their management team. You will be responsible for supporting the management team to ensure the smooth running of the hotel's bars, restaurants, meeting rooms, and banqueting areas, focusing on delivering excellent service and driving revenue and profit growth. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the hospitality industry, previous food and beverage experience, and strong leadership and organisational skills to motivate and develop a team of staff.

The key responsibilities of this role are:

* Support the management team ensuring the smooth running of the hotel operation.
* Be aware of the business in the hotel and work with each department to ensure delivery of exceptional guest service.
* Deal with guest queries in a friendly and efficient manner, ensuring guest satisfaction.
* Ensure the best levels of customer care within the property.
* Greet all guests in a warm, friendly, and courteous fashion.
* Champion Service Excellence in the Hotel.
* Encourage guest feedback through personal contact with customers and staff, and implement a system for addressing comments to ensure guest satisfaction and continuous improvement.
* Deal with telephone, email, and fax enquiries.
* Handle complaints professionally and promptly, and monitor and track these complaints.
* Investigate adverse comments immediately and respond appropriately.
* Operate according to SOP Manuals.
* Ensure full compliance with HACCP.
* Work with Management, Supervisors & Staff to ensure smooth hotel operations.
* Maintain high standards for all service areas and ensure they are well maintained.
* Ensure high hygiene standards throughout the Hotel, with a strict cleaning schedule, and proper records for bars (Nephin, Mc Shanes, and Ox).
* Organize work and ensure service systems are in place.
* Communicate effectively with all departments and work closely with department heads.
* Supervise and manage daily operations of all service areas.
* Manage property maintenance, stock checks, and control systems.
* Encourage revenue growth through upselling and cross-selling.
* Coordinate staff meetings and performance reviews.
* Report staff and operational issues to the GM and participate in disciplinary procedures as necessary.
* Maintain training records and respond to staff suggestions.
* Assist HR with Health & Safety and motivate the team.
* Ensure all equipment and furniture are maintained.
* Maintain personal hygiene and adhere to uniform standards.
* Follow all policies in the staff handbook and implement health & safety policies.
* Fulfill obligations under Health & Safety at Work Act 1989, keep work areas safe, and report hazards.
* Participate in safety drills and training, and be active in the Safety Committee.
* Report any accidents or incidents immediately.
* Be flexible and cooperative, assisting in various duties as directed by management, including inter-departmental tasks.

Requirements:

* Previous experience in a similar role within busy 3*/4* hotels.
* Strong knowledge of Food & Beverage Industry.
* Strong people management & communication skills.
* Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
