We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Galway.
Responsibilities
Maintain and update existing designs and CAD drawings on the engineering system
Design new machines and components in collaboration with the wider team
Improve existing machine designs, focusing on known problem areas to enhance reliability
Generate technical documentation, including user manuals and spare parts catalogues
Support the production team by ensuring design data is accurate and up to date
Assist in product testing and evaluation to ensure compliance with performance standards
Requirements
NFQ Level 7/8 Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Agricultural, Mechatronics, etc.)
Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks highly desirable)
Strong computer literacy (MS Office, file management, technical documentation)
Ability to problem-solve and work both independently and within a team
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of farm or construction machinery and hands-on operation experience preferred
Familiarity with design for manufacture principles
Must be legally eligible to work in Ireland
