Job Title: Senior/Principal Hydrologist
Main Responsibilities:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior/Principal Hydrologist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical guidance within the Drainage, Hydrology, Hydrogeology, Geoscience Teams. Key responsibilities include preparing technical reports and designs to support hydrology and drainage design, environmental impact assessments, environmental licensing and compliance monitoring.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Flood Risk Assessment, with experience in designing, developing and coordinating Environmental Sampling & Monitoring programmes. They will also be responsible for implementing field based works associated with projects, which might include surface water and groundwater monitoring.
In addition to these key responsibilities, the successful candidate will maintain and develop technical capability through Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and project and design management, compliance with health, safety and quality policies and procedures.
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, applicants must possess a minimum of an honours degree in a relevant discipline, such as Environmental / Civil Engineering, Geoscience. A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is required, with experience in Flood Risk Assessment being highly desirable.
Chartered status with a relevant professional body or willingness to work towards chartership is essential. A post-graduate/MSc degree is advantageous but not essential. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of environmental guidance and legislation, as well as significant experience in the provision of environmental services at a senior level with good analytical skills.
A strong command of the English language is essential, both spoken and written.
