Overview Of Role
Fulltime Housekeeping Operative required to join our Household Department, must be available to work evenings and weekends for 35 hours per week.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
To undertake daily cleaning of the building in line with Infection & Prevention Control and Health & Safety Standards. The Household Operative will work within a team to ensure that the building is kept to the highest standards of cleanliness.
Key Areas Of Responsibility
The following are key areas of responsibility for the Household Cleaner:
Undertake general cleaning of all clinical and non-clinical areas of the hospital
Vacuuming, dusting and washing floors and walls.
Sweeping, floor polishing (using scrubber dryer & buffer to maintain the floors)
Remove waste from the area to be cleaned to the designated collection area.
Use the compactor for all rubbish and cardboard
Wash windows, walls and ceilings.
Dust furniture and vacuum carpeting and area rugs, draperies and upholstered furniture.
Attend to patient's requests for extra supplies.
Clean, disinfect and polish all required areas
Ensuring the toilet facilities are kept clean and supplies are replenished when required.
Organise necessary supplies for cleaning in all areas
Disinfect operating rooms and other hospital areas.
Carrie out deep cleans in all departments as required
Ensure all cleaning equipment its cleaned and disinfected daily
Ensure all checklists are signed off as required
Inform the Supervisor/Manager of stock required for replenishing purposes.
Report and store lost and found items.
May provide basic information on facilities.
May handle complaints.
Promoting a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
Undertake any other duties as requested.

Previous experience working in a hospital or medical environment is desirable
A good working knowledge of English.
A knowledge and willingness to apply safe working practices.
A knowledge of how to use equipment necessary to carry out the assigned tasks.
